1 - First Shift

Are you the type of person who has a passion for machining and wants to use your skillset to develop team members? In this role you will provide classroom and hands-on training for new and existing Vermeer machinist. We're looking for someone who can maintain a professional learning environment while teaching the fundamental skills and standards to ensure success in the machine shop. What You'll Do

  1. Facilitate machining training curriculum including measurement training, blueprint reading, tooling, and other machining processes per Vermeer standards. Maintain a professional learning environment in both classroom and production floor training.

  2. Monitor and assess team members against established performance standards for Vermeer machinists. Utilize hands on assessments with tools and hardware. Provide coaching and feedback to team members based on assessment.

  3. Deliver established training curriculum.

  4. Perform follow up evaluations on new Vermeer machinists post training and provide continuing education of machinists.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma.

  • Minimum of 2 years of machining experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Knowledge and ability to set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to, CNC machining centers and lathes, press brakes and lasers.

  • Ability to respond to changing priorities to meet customer demands.

  • Ability to take complex topics or tasks and break them down for the learners while effectively communicating.

  • Ability to hold team members accountable to all safety and quality standards associated with machining.

Travel

- No travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
