$26-$40/hour depending on experience and licensing

Under the supervision of jobsite leadership or project management, Traveling Electricians work with field operations to layout and install electrical wiring, apparatus, and equipment in various settings. Qualified Traveling Electricians have:

  • High-level electrical experience on heavy commercial and industrial jobs and good working knowledge of the NEC

  • Completion of apprenticeship program or technical training is preferred

  • Licensed Journeyman certification is an asset

  • Willingness and ability for up to 100% domestic travel with overnight stays during the week and work schedules that adjust to customer needs and can include nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Demonstrated reliability to see jobs through from start to finish and adherence to safety policies

  • Ability to meet physical demands including, but not limited to, continuous standing, walking, and/or climbing; effectively communicating; regularly squatting, kneeling and sitting; occasionally lifting from floor to above shoulder; lifting weights of 1 to 80 lbs. at various frequencies; frequent pushing and pulling of 50 to 75 lbs.; repetitively using hands including continuous grasping of up to 50 lbs.; performing with fine motor coordination for receptacle installation and wire termination; repetitively using feet to operate equipment and climb; adequately seeing for blueprint reading and color coding to identify wire; and adequately balancing for frequent climbing of ladders, lifts, etc.

  • Strong critical thought, troubleshooting and decision-making skills; attention to detail; situational awareness; and mathematical, measuring and mechanical knowledge to perform electrical services
