Trans Ova Genetics Purchasing Inventory Specialist in SIOUX CENTER, Iowa

Position Purpose:iiTo ensure the monthly accuracy of supply inventory reporting company-wide and reconcile the associated monthly supply expense with actual sales procedures performed.i To work alongside IT to design and develop a supply usage/management tool, and to assist the purchasing team in daily ordering needs during peak periods.Key Responsibilities:Support day-to-day purchasing operations to include:Provide daily assistance to the purchasing team to help ensure that all purchase requests are processed timely and in accordance with current purchasing policies.i Prepare purchase orders.i Match purchase orders to packing slips, enter receiving information and match packing slips to invoices for processing, when necessary.Obtain timely approval of invoices and code and enter invoices accurately.Assist Purchasing Manager with items for research and development and any new upcoming labs or sites, both domestically and/or internationally.Assist with the development of a new company-wide supply inventory management tool.Work closely with IT and each operating group to develop and automate daily supply inventory transfers and daily usage in the current system.Lead the day-to-day inputs of the new supply inventory management tool.Verify accuracy of receiving of supply inventory and provide user training where necessary.i Monitor and follow up on all receiving inputs.Ensure completeness of daily usage entry into the supply inventory tool.iVerify accuracy of daily transfers between inventory sites and follow up on missing transfers.Monthly supply inventory duties to include:Ensure timeliness and accuracy of month end counts.i Work directly with counters. Coordinate re-counts if necessary.iExplain Significant Expense Variances - Investigate usage compared to actual procedures performed.Report supply inventory and monthly expenses to Purchasing, Regional Operation and Accounting Managers for review and approval prior to our 10-day monthly close.Provide assistance to accounting and operations to research and follow up on requested variances and identify proposed solutions.Plan and help conduct scheduled inventory site visits, as needed. Help establish best handling and storage practices for each site to ensure proper security of supply inventory.Help each site to manage reasonable inventory volumes and establish re-order points based upon expected upcoming volume of work.Assist Purchasing Manager with vendor negotiations and pricing, as requested.Help to reduce (to within expectations) purchasing department overtime.Maintain a professional image reflective of Trans Ovais industry position.Follow Trans Ovais policies and procedures.Other accounting duties as assigned by Accounting Manager.Education Requirements:2 year degree in a related field or the equivalent work experience is preferred.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:Primarily indoor office environment.Ability at times to lift 50lbs and use a ladder.Other skills/experience:Previous inventory management or purchasing experience is preferred.Strong Excel and analytical skills desired.Strong Data-Entry and 10-key experience is required.iMicrosoft Suite skills required (Includes Word, Excel, and Outlook).Must demonstrate the ability to work well and effectively communicate with teammates and supervisor.
