Aventure Staffing Director of Internal Auditing in Sioux City Area, Iowa
Director of Internal Auditing | DOE
Monday - Friday, 8A - 4:30 PM with occasional evening meetings (1 - 2/month)
Sioux City client is hiring a Director of Internal Auditing to join their team in a positive, employee/family friendly culture. This position will lead and assist parishes with adherence to standard accounting practices & internal controls. They'll also provide support & training to parish bookkeepers/business managers including on-site financial reviews of accounting procedures & financial statements. They will attend parish finance council meetings as needed (possibly 1 - 2 evenings/month with flex time available). Director of Internal Auditing Responsibilities will include:
Establish & maintain parish accounting & financial policies, procedures and best practices
Provide support & training to diocesan pastors, business managers and bookkeepers on accounting software & QuickBooks, policies & procedures & legislative changes
Research & respond to related questions from parishes
Request & collect financial statements, budgets & support materials from Diocesan locations & perform regular on-site financial reviews
Attend parish finance council meetings as needed to present findings & discuss reviews
Maintain Bookkeepers hiring exam & provide feedback as applicable; assist with hiring as needed
Assist with financial aspects of Pastoral Planning including maintaining financial & accounting guidelines
Requirements of this Director of Internal Auditing:
BA in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 4+ years of accounting experience
Audit experience preferred
Extensive computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, Excel & QuickBooks required
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Ability to prepare & present reports of findings and train others
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and stay organized
Candidates of the Catholic faith preferred
Must have valid driver's license & good driving record as duties include travel to parishes as needed
