IMON COMMUNICATIONS, LLC Connection Technician in Sioux City, Iowa
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Construction / Network Maintenance:
- Turn up fiber, pole transfers, and relocation network projects by completing the following tasks:
- Do the prep work for Loose Tube, Mid-Sheath, and Splitting Ribbon Buffer Tube.
- Splicing Fiber optic cable (loose tube, Ribbon, Multi-mode) fiber together, customer and company termination panels.
- Ability to operate Optical Time Domain Reflectometer to test fiber use of visual fault light and power meter loss and readings.
- Installation of additional Calix shelves/splitters to support market growth.
Installation:
- Perform installations, troubleshoot and repair ImOn Communications services including the connection of the customers equipment for Business, single and multi-family dwellings including, as appropriate, all necessary wiring (interior and exterior) and hardware; install, troubleshoot and repair drops from the Multi-service Terminal to the Optical Network Terminal.
- Perform connects (new connects and reconnects), disconnects (requested and non-pays), upgrades, downgrades, and relocates; install additional outlets, and install or remove ImOn equipment; connect various options available with customers equipment per Company Policy.
- Inspect and perform quality assurance on contracted installs.
Service:
- Troubleshoot and repair ImOn Communications services and Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) / in-home customer networks.
- Work ethic and encouraging the flow of communication in and out of the field
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints, escalate where necessary.
Warehouse:
- Receives inventory and monitor inventory levels. Work directly with the supply chain to replenish.
All other duties as assigned
We are looking for people with:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' of experience in one or combination of equipment installation, fiber splicing, line work, installation, and repair.
- Experience with single mode, multi-mode and splicing loose tube, ribbon fiber, and microfiber strongly desired.
- Ability to travel.
- Must accommodate on-call after-hours work as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Drivers license with a driving record that allows employee to be insured by companys insurance carrier.
