Aventure Staffing Fabrication Estimator in Sioux City, Iowa
The Fabrication Estimator is responsible for developing costs estimates on fabricated steel products. You will be working closely with Sales and Operations to determine part and component specifications, availability of product, machine lead time, and preparing comprehensive estimates for our customers. You will have a strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, excellent mathematical and analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Responsibilities:
Determine labor, material, and time requirements by studying blueprints and specifications.
Prepare cost estimates associated with producing a new product.
Update costs on existing products based on collected data and current material costs.
Enter sales orders, create work orders, schedule work orders, and complete work orders.
Time study processes and update estimates based on real time data collected.
Work closely with sales, purchasing, and management to develop competitive costs.
Work directly with customers & engineers to obtain details and understand the customer expectations.
Responsible for overall quality and check tolerances of finished product.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Prior experience in Steel Fabrication preferred.
Able to read blueprints and understand tolerances.
Proven measurement and mathematical fractional/decimal conversion skills.
Able to distinguish material types and specifications.
Candidate must be a strong team player.
Candidate has to be reliable.
A high school graduate or GED equivalent w/ English language fluency.
Basic knowledge of CAD or Solidworks is preferred.
Experienced working with Microsoft Excel.
Solid Windows based PC & mathematical skills required.
Must be able to work in a deadline driven environment.
Extremely detail-oriented individual committed to accuracy.
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skill are needed.
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Prior estimating experience is preferred.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

Stamina: The ability to perform repetitive tasks as well as sitting for long periods. The ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
Visual Acuity: The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs, video displays). The ability to utilize a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
Hand-Eye Coordination: The ability to coordinate one's eyes with one's fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks.
Work Conditions: The ability to perform job activities, with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable in a sedentary, indoor office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to constant/intermittent sounds.
Manual Dexterity: The ability to make quick, accurate, skillful, coordinated movements of one hand, one hand in coordination with its arm, or two hands to grasp, place, move, or file objects. The ability to perform repetitive motion with wrist, hands and fingers as the employee will utilize a keyboard frequently.

$55,000/year
