Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments, industries, and roles. `Job DescriptionFollow instructions from the Lead, Saw, and Machinist. Operate various machines, including brake press, punch press, drill press, lathe, plasma table, and saw. Ability to set up and operate machines to produce accurate results of structural steel per verbal instructions or by reading engineering drawings or blueprints and interpreting dimensions to the appropriate measurements on the device. Read ruler and blueprints to analyze dimensions to the proper measurements on the machine. Recognize and take steps to resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on the operations. Ability to understand measures and essential math skills. Cooperate with all departments to ensure a cooperative work relationship. Enforce company policies fairly and consistently. Keeps managers informed on operating and employee problems that may require their attention or knowledge. Qualifications:iHigh School Diploma or GED. 2 + years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferred). Excellent attendance history Must be able to read, write and understand English. Good visual acuity, hand, and eye coordination. Work EnvironmentAbility to manipulate (carry, lift, move) objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crouch or stoop to perform various functions of the position.i May stand on a hard surface for a 10 - 12-hour shift per day in a hot or cold environment.i Able to reach with hands and arms. This job tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet product specialization and tolerances. This position is typically in a manufacturing setting and requires standing for long periods. Requires good hand-eye coordinator, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp.i Ability to make decisions and concentrate; frequent contact with others, including some public contact; regular deadlines and time-limited assignments.
