Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Director of Finance. As part of the management team, the director of finance must have strong leadership, management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills. This may be the role for you if you are an experienced VP/Director of Finance looking for a challenging role at an established company. This is a permanent full time opportunity in the Sioux City, IA area.

Your responsibilities

• Work with department managers to develop five-year business plans

• Manage the organizational structure of the department in order to achieve goals and objectives

• Direct, review, and prepare financial planning and budget management functions

• Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance

• Oversee the preparation of all financial reports

• Maintains and reviews budgeting and forecasting models

• Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures

• Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts

• Comply with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements

• Supervise risk and insurance management

• Take the lead on all financial and accounting operations

• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget

• Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions

• Hire and train employees, especially finance staff, and manage retention

  Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

• 10+ years of accounting and finance experience

• MBA or CPA is preferred

• Expert understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Efficiency in a variety of accounting and financial reporting systems

• Experience with higher level functionality in Microsoft Excel

• Extremely detailed and analytical
