Summary/Objectives\ The welding, cutting and assembly support of fabricated products.\ \ Essential Functions\ Weld fabricated products in accordance with customer specifications, AWS and other welding codes.\ Perform required preventative maintenance and alert the maintenance department to any repairs needed.\ Assist in the planning and scheduling of the workload.\ Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.\ Aid and support the Fitter in assembly of fabricated products.\ Read blueprints and drawings and take measurements to plan the layout and proper procedure.\ Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on the requirements\ Set up components for welding according to specifications.\ Align components using calipers, rulers and clamp pieces.\ Check quality against job specifications and industry standards and report any deviation.\ Expectations\ Support and encourage other crew members.\ Comply with MVS Health and Safety Requirements and policies.\ Achieve the required quality standards.\ Achieve on-time delivery to internal and external customers.\ Promote good departmental and interdepartmental team spirit.\ Participate and support Continuous Improvement Programs, HR, and other company initiatives.\ Carry out duties in accordance with applicable codes, ISO standards and other procedures.\ Regular attendance and punctuality.\ \ Competencies\ Communication skills.\ Teamwork Orientation.\ Time Management.\ Attention to detail.\ Self-starter and self-motivated.\ \ Physical Demands\ The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
