Musco Lighting Full Stack Developer in Urbandale, Iowa


Musco’s Emerging Technologies team is hiring a Full Stack Developer to focus on cloud architecture and development to help create the next generation of technology for sports markets. Our interdisciplinary team is looking for a creative and curious individual with a willingness to think beyond traditional paradigms in order to shape the future of recreational, collegiate, and professional sporting venues. Ideal candidates have a background in software programming, content delivery networks, and video production.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prototype, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack features, services, and microservices primarily on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and edge devices

  • Stay informed of emerging cloud technologies and evaluate their value to the organization

  • Understanding of the key components in a modern streaming ecosystem and CDNs

  • Mentor technical colleagues in your specific areas of technical strength and learn from technical colleagues that exhibit superior strength in technical areas you may have knowledge gaps

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of product designers, software engineers, hardware engineers, and business leaders

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or related degree

  • 3 or more years experience

  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Assist in developing large scale, robust and efficient software solutions for our products and services

  • Research and integrate new cloud services that complement our suite of product offerings

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn artificial intelligence, automation, video overlays, and deployment techniques

  • Experience with evaluating different architectural approaches and solutions

  • Knowledge of modern web front end libraries/frameworks for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Strong knowledge of SQL database modeling and design, Python and PHP

  • Experience using web services (REST APIs, SOAP, APIs)
