Title: Quality Engineer - 77157
This is a variable shift position.
As a Quality Engineer for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will support variable shift production by leveraging a variety of quality tools and processes to ensure product quality performance exceeds customer expectations. You will also lead quality improvement initiatives and drive customer warranty improvement projects.
In addition you will
Lead OFP issue resolution in a fast-paced assembly environment while driving improvement through various quality initiatives including QIT, PFMEA, DPQ, and Six Sigma projects
Plan, organize and execute quality initiatives in your area of responsibility, including leading cross-functional, cross-departmental projects
Lead, coach, and mentor other Quality Engineers across multiple DTA departments
Monitor, analyze and investigate warranty claim information and determine appropriate corrective action to support warranty goals
Leverage structured problem-solving and statistical skills to solve complex production and customer warranty problems
Lead Quality Improvement Team and support Continuous Improvement Teams including Operational Excellence
Manage PFMEA activity, control plan development and execution
Manage NCCA’s and report metrics to communicate the status and success of your work area

What Skills You Need
3 or more years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or production environment
Demonstrated team leadership and ability to influence others through all stages of issue resolution
Experience gathering, analyzing, and presenting data to make decisions, including the use of statistical tools
Demonstrated ability to manage and make decisions in high pressure situations
Ability to read and interpret complex part drawings, including functional knowledge of GD&T
Demonstrated ability to manage workload, including task and project management experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work with external stakeholders to resolve issues
2 or more years of experience using statistical tools including root cause analysis
What Makes You Stand Out
2 or more years of experience in a precision assembly environment
Product knowledge related to drivetrain assemblies
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Minitab software
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor of Arts /Science in a Manufacturing Technology or Engineering discipline.
