Aston Carter Accounting Manager in Waukee, Iowa

Description:

  • Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxes, treasury, and the general ledger

  • Assist in review financial close process and financial statement preparation using advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, and make deductions from various facts and circumstances

  • Identify and implement changes to existing procedures to enhance the quality and speed of financial activities while driving cost savings for the business

  • Support the quality operation of our internal processes and controls function including

  • Utilize reporting functions to identify exceptions and subsequently enhance the control environment by assisting with the development of procedures to mitigate risk

  • Further enhance our tracking and execution of policies, processes, and controls

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

  • Assess current practices and procedures and drive projects to create improvements

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred

  • Minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience, public acquisition experience a plus

  • Minimum of three years of experience in public accounting consultation OR direct private industry management relating to financial close and the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of an internal control environment

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
