Job Title: Electrician

Job Description

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing equipment for base building. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment, plan and layout work projects from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions, and select the correct materials to complete work assignments. You will also be proficient in establishing test procedures relative to lead requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, maintaining electrician’s tools and equipment in good working order, and troubleshooting and repairing fire and security alarm systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, and test equipment for base building.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment.

  • Plan and layout work projects from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions.

  • Select the correct materials to complete work assignments.

  • Establish test procedures relative to lead requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.

  • Maintain electrician’s tools and equipment in good working order.

  • Troubleshoot and repair fire and security alarm systems.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical components and equipment.

  • Knowledge of lighting, electrical protective devices, motors, inverters, soft starts, and wye-delta systems.

  • Familiarity with hard-wired and Ethernet-based control systems.

  • Understanding of schematics, mathematics, preventive/predictive technologies, and basic computer literacy.

  • Awareness of safe electrical test and measurement best practices.

  • Capability to perform calibration and documentation of functions pertaining to flow measurement, level measurement, pressure, temperature, and analytical instrumentation.

  • Ability to troubleshoot process control loops using key elements and specialized testing equipment.

  • Experience cutting, threading, bending, and installing raceway (conduit) and cable trays in an industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of pumps, valves, motors, instrument tech, fluke meters, load levelers, and tank volumes.

Work Environment

You will work Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 6:30 am to 5 pm, with an on-call schedule once every two months. The position offers compensation for a minimum of 4 hours for on-call work, regardless of actual time spent. We provide uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
