Job Description

The CBIZ Accounts Specialist will provide monitoring of the Iowa New Job Training and Iowa Jobs Training agreements. This position will also aid with the America’s SBDC Iowa state reporting. With minimal supervision, this position will coordinate activities, maintain records and files, compile reports and communicate with various public, private and community college personnel. Must be attentive to details and able to exercise good judgment. Duties include but are not limited to: creation of detailed reports and spreadsheets, track project deadlines/timelines, database management, preparing contracts, data-entry, mailings, filing and special project support. Will work closely with CBIZ Staff in the day to day functions of CBIZ marketing and management of CBIZ contract training projects.

This is a full-time position with an annual starting salary of $40,000. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, $50,000 life insurance, long-term disability, paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid spring and holiday breaks and participation in IPERS or TIAA retirement plan.

Terms of employment are per the employment contract and relevant policies and guidelines of the Board of Trustees.

Essential Duties Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain files pertaining to Industrial New Jobs Training and Iowa Jobs Training Program and monitor them for accuracy and completeness.

  • Conduct reviews of the various project agreements and provide information to the CBIZ Director.

  • Maintain Iowa Workforce Development database on a routine basis with a high degree of completeness and accuracy.

  • Maintain Data files for America’s SBDC Iowa clients and reporting to state, federal and economic stakeholder.

  • Monitoring of reimbursements for completeness and accuracy. Including audit of reimbursement request received and verifying eligibility.

  • Reconciling of withholding remittances.

  • Assist the Director of CBIZ in the preparation of financial reports.

  • Assist instructors in preparation of classroom/student materials for all Contract Training activities.

  • Administer facilities and equipment schedules.

  • Assist with production and editing of catalog.

  • Track project deadlines, timelines and assist with reporting.

  • Report development using financial spreadsheets.

  • Backup coverage for other staff

  • Commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.

  • Follow College policies and procedures

  • Communicate with team members on all relevant matters in areas of responsibilities.

  • Coordination of projects under the direction of the CBIZ Director

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum of 2 years post-secondary training or work experience required. AA degree or AAS in Accounting, Office Administration, or Business required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Varied background in business, industry or administration assistance desirable.

  • Experience developing spreadsheets & reports preferred.

Abilities:

  • Must possess efficient office skills, including filing and written communication.

  • Must possess the written and oral skills required to communicate effectively with team members and customers.

  • Ability to coordinate with CBIZ personnel involved in program development.

  • Must possess the skills to keep accurate records and files, sufficient accounting ability to monitor payroll records and other documentation against reimbursement requests.

  • Must be properly motivated toward the growth and improvement of CBIZ services supporting Southeastern Community College.

  • Think logically and analytically solve problems as they arise.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Manage multiple tasks, prioritize and complete in an accurate and timely manner in spite of regular interruptions.

  • Work independently and be a self-starter, including conducting research relevant to routine responsibilities and assigned tasks.

  • Work effectively, cooperatively, and cordially with people of diverse background and needs.

  • Learn and apply SCC policies and procedures.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Be familiar with the mission of a community college.

Must have the ability and mobility to serve a rural service area; some travel within the SDR 16 required.
