Robert Half Accounting Clerk in West Des Moines, Iowa

Description

Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk for an admired company. The Accounting Clerk will chiefly be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary position based in the Des Moines, Iowa area.

Your responsibilities

  • Post financial information to journals and ledgers

  • Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

  • Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

  • Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

  • Codify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

  • Contribute to Accounts Receivable: help with collection of past due balance, process daily invoices/credit, and apply cash receipt

  • Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of an array of sources

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Basic Bookkeeping

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions

  • Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

  • Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system
