Job Opportunities Available: Cable Technicians - Microsoft Data Center

Work Site Location: West Des Moines, Iowa

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 7:00 am - 5:30 pm / Weekly Pay

Job Description: We are seeking dedicated Cable Technicians to join our team for a project working at Microsoft Data Center. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient setup of cable systems. Your primary responsibilities will include spotting for other technicians on eco lifts, running and pulling cables, dressing and organizing cables along cable trays, managing cable systems, and labeling cables. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals who are comfortable working at heights and eager to learn new skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cable Installation: Run and pull cables between data center locations and dress them along cable trays to maintain organization and efficiency.

  • Spotting: Provide assistance to other technicians working on eco lifts (10-12 feet high), ensuring safety and proper handling of equipment.

  • Cable Management: Organize and label cables systematically, facilitating easy identification and maintenance.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to support project goals and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Hard Skills:

  • Experience: 6+ months of hands-on work experience in cabling, construction, installation, or industrial assembly preferred.

  • Construction Experience: Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience on construction sites.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Familiarity with mechanical systems and tools for assembling trays, racks, and wiring layouts.

Soft Skills:

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to notice and correct errors in cable management and installation.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Quick thinking to address challenges that arise during installation.

  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Good Communication Skills: Clear communication with team members and supervisors regarding project status and any issues.

Work Environment:

  • This job will be performed indoors, primarily within active construction sites. You will work five 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), though hours may change based on project demands. The work environment includes large, active construction areas with moving equipment and potential hazards.

Required Attire:

  • Workers are required to wear steel-toed boots , a clean pair of jeans, and a work-appropriate shirt. The client provides a high-visibility vest , hearing protection , and work gloves .
