Heartland Co-op Grain Settlement Clerk in West Des Moines, Iowa
Processes receiving, settlement and payment of grain purchases as well as processing truck and rail shipments and settlements of grain sales for Heartland Co-op.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process contracts, settlements and payments for grain purchased by Heartland Co-op from customers.
Process truck and rail shipments, settlements and payments for grain sold by Heartland Co-op.
Interact with customers on the phone or in person regarding grain bids, contract options, and buying grain.
Answer customer questions regarding grain settlements and policies regarding docs, discounts and storage rates.
Maintain a high level of customer service and a friendly atmosphere.
Operates truck scales weighing grain in and out of Heartland Co-op facilities
Able to work long hours and weekends.
Other duties may be assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED): or one to three months related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS 400 grain and inventory software.
Certificates and Licenses:
May be required to maintain a current weighing license and grain grading certificate.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
