Wells Fargo Lead Financial Accountant in West Des Moines, Iowa
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Financial Accountant to join the Specialty Accounting Team supporting the Corporate Properties Group (CPG). This team manages the accounting and reporting for Wells Fargo's corporate real estate portfolio, which includes both leased and owned locations. We provide accounting consultation to CPG regarding complex, large proposed transactions.
In this role, you will:
Provide technical expertise regarding accounting issues, regulatory information and research to senior management and CPG of real estate and leasing transactions. Document transaction specifics and accounting treatment conclusions
Interface with CPG Transaction Management, Strategy, Relationship Management, Construction and Property Management, Risk Compliance, Lease Administration, Legal, and Enterprise Accounting Policy, other lines of business Accounting and Finance counterparts.
Manage and analyze leases for proper application of ASC 842/IFRS16 Leases Accounting Standard, including evaluation of SAP results, and developing SAP solutions and performing testing of solutions
Manage the application of strong data management skills to efficiently and accurately collect data to prepare financial statements and reports; manage development of methodologies and implementation of changes in internal accounting systems
Coordinate model risk activities, including creating and implementing controls to ensure data accuracy, documentation of processes, development of appropriate tests, and resolution of issues
Lead ongoing monthly CPG accounting close and reporting processes as needed
Perform and lead special projects, including systems upgrades or new tools with critical impact to group or company

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Public accounting experience
2+ years of leadership experience
Real estate or lease accounting experience
E xperience leading strategic initiatives, collaborating across a large organization
SAP/Oracle experience
Project management experience
