This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op that will work at the OEM aero nozzle manufacturing facility in West Des Moines, IA. This position is for a student seeking an experience in using engineering principles in a manufacturing environment. If selected, the employee will become familiar with Collins Aerospace products, manufacturing objectives and state of the art manufacturing techniques. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run January to August; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past August 2024.

Technical problem definition and solution in a manufacturing environment.
Liaison with design engineering on incorporating changes to the designs which improve manufacturability.
Determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow, and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control through the application of Lean principles.
Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluate cost factors.
Plan and design facilities layout for manufacturing processes and equipment.
Solve Manufacturing Engineering problems of varying levels of complexity.
Develop tools that enable manufacturing, aid process improvement or address safety concerns.
Create assembly work instructions utilizing SolidWorks Composer.
Assist in resolving eQCPC turnbacks for Manufacturing Engineering.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
