What you can expect as the Regional Sales Manager

Responsible for achieving annuity sales, recruiting, and other related goals within assigned region for Midland National Life (MNL) Insurance Company. Identify and build relationships with targeted Investment Advisor Representatives and Insurance licensed producers to successfully market and drive annuity sales. Maintain and drive annuity sales through current Loyalty and base agents. Position product, company benefits and value prop through phone calls and face-to-face meetings.

What we are looking for:

  • Work within assigned region to achieve assigned annuity sales goals.

  • Identify and build relationships with key producers in region through face-to-face meetings, regional industry events, phone calls, webinars and other forms of communication in order to achieve annuity sales goals.

  • A minimum of 50% travel in region for various producer meetings.

  • Partner with an Internal Wholesaler to jointly execute a focused plan to meet activity and sales goals.

  • Drive fixed annuity product sales by promoting companies’ products, services, and benefits. Create and provide business plans/goals and train and support agents/producers

  • Provide producer training and carry out sales campaigns to producers within region and other distribution partners to assist the company in meeting production goals.

  • Attend, facilitate agent training, and promote company and products at various industry conferences as necessary.

  • Demonstrate strong ability to articulate the Company’s strategy by presenting a compelling story about company strength, culture, values, products, and services to drive sales growth and deepen relationships with producers and partners.

  • Deliver presentations educating producers and distribution partners on company, product, and services in order to drive quality annuity sales to the company.

  • Assist with developing and implementing training programs for new products, point of sale work, services and programs offered by the company.

  • Provide assistance and information to producers on company products, policies, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with management in the implementation of outbound phone campaigns and other programs to be carried out from the home office. In conjunction with sales management, create, implement, and follow-through on sales and marketing campaigns within assigned region. This includes ensuring that activity requirements and service standards are met at all times.

  • Gather and maintain competitor information and assist management in developing product and sales tools to gain and maintain a competitive advantage; act as a steward for the agents/distribution partners to keep them involved with field climate, trends and other important strategic information.


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 years' sales experience in financial services industry (external or combination of internal and external) required

  • Ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely with effective written and oral skills

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships-Internally & Externally

  • This is a Regional position, based in West Des Moines (WDM) Home Office, but traveling to region 50% of time

  • Excellent presentation skills, both in creation and delivery, to current and prospective agents’/distribution partners of Sammons Financial Group member companies

  • Thorough knowledge of sales and marketing principles and practices

  • Expected to maintain a thorough knowledge of existing Annuity products as well as new and enhanced products offered by annuity division

  • Proven ability to grow a region/territory as measured by sales, agent growth and persistency of business

  • Effective organizational, time management, sales and presentation skills

  • Criminal background check required.
