We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Executive - HealthPartners UnityPoint Health. The Sales Executive is primarily responsible for new business sales across all group market segments which includes large commercial and government programs. Through collaborative efforts with broker partners and direct customers the Sales Executive provides effective consultation, creative design, and successful implementation of collaborative health solutions that are specifically tailored to meet the customer’s unique goals for their health and dental plans.

The Sales Executive is accountable for the successful sale of our products and services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of five years of successful sales experience.

  • Iowa insurance license.

  • Demonstrated group presentation, negotiation and problem solving skills.

  • Knowledge of basic insurance underwriting principles.

  • Ability to manage multiple project assignments with short deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively at all levels within an organization, from C-Suite to HR assistants.

  • Must have current, valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.

  • Execution of a non-competition agreement upon hire.

  • Strong writing skills to effectively communicate with clients.

  • Experience, knowledge and competence in Strategic Selling principles, especially with C-Suite senior level executives

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sales experience in the health insurance industry, with strong technical background in self insurance.

  • Prior background in public sector and government program accounts.

  • Strong business background, advanced courses in business, marketing and / or financeHealth insurance underwriting experience.

  • Strong numerical ability and reasoning skills.

  • Strong verbal and verbal reasoning skills.

  • Experience in quid pro quo negotiating techniques.

  • Prior experience in a team environment

    Accountabilities:

Implement High Performance Strategic Selling Approach with new prospects and our broker partners

  • Engage in Client Discovery by meeting with all key buying influences.

  • Identify the vision, goals and objectives of the client’s health plan, and the role it plays in meeting their overall business objectives.

  • Identify and understand the problems the client is trying to solveValidate key learning’s and understandings via the Vision / Goal letter communication process.

  • Create customized solution presentations that uniquely meet the clients vision and goals, and present those to the prospects in a clear, compelling and convincing manner.

  • Understand the decision path and timelines, and use the HPS process to manage the path effectively.

  • Close the businessManage the sales funnel through our company-wide CRM system.

Effectively Manage Broker Relationships

  • Use concept of Broker partnership to maximize understanding of broker vision / goals.

  • Create a Strategic Broker Development Plan for top brokers / firms that will maximize penetration of HealthPartners’ products and services in all assigned brokerage firms.

  • Develop, maintain and improve broker relationships through effectively communicating our capabilities and educating brokers regarding the advantages of our products and services.

  • Meet with our key brokers on a regular basis to maintain and enhance our relationship, and quickly respond to our brokers to resolve any outstanding service issues in an effort to provide ongoing service that exceeds expectations.

  • Manage a number of key broker relationships that will generate sufficient prospect activity

Ultimate Sales Accountabilities

  • Achieve new sales and net growth targets for both medical, dental, and health and well-being.

  • Sell ancillary lines of business such as our worksite health services.

  • Manage the Sales Funnel from Universe to those prospects in various stages of proposal development.

  • Assist the Account Managers as needed on renewals with our largest and most important accounts.

  • Manage overall implementation of new sales.

  • Act as the informal “team leaders” with your colleagues
