Wells Fargo Senior Lead Treasury Analyst in West Des Moines, Iowa

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Treasury Analyst to lead and own the Mortgage and Rate modeling for the Asset/Liability Management team.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure the models used for creating rate forecasts and mortgage forecasts and valuations are appropriate, performing as expected and compliant with model risk management policies and procedures.

  • Provide guidance to a support team that assists in managing the model risk for these models.

  • Collaborate with others across the organization to ensure modeling consistencies and developing improved methodologies.

  • Ensure deliverables are completed and that they comply with various treasury risk management regulatory requirements

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development

  • Make recommendations to management regarding efficiencies to be gained, strategic direction and restructuring

  • Provide technical interpretation on various matters and present best practices

  • Recommend compliance and risk management requirements for supported area

  • Implement key risk initiatives

  • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Interact with internal customers

  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 7+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, or other business related field

  • A Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or comparable professional designation

  • Knowledge and understanding of asset liability or liquidity management software, especially QRM

  • Experience with modeling mortgages or other asset classes, and implementing models in QRM software

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to a broad range of audiences

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements surrounding the management of interest rate risk, liquidity, and capital

  • Ability to work in a team-based environment, prioritize tasks, learn quickly, provide superior customer service, and take on new challenges

  • Superior quantitative, leadership and critical thinking skills

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, sound critical thinking, outstanding quantitative analytical skills, and solid problem-solving capabilities are required

  • Experience with model risk management best practices
