Job Description - Senior Treasury Analyst - Power BI

Wells Fargo's Balance Sheet Interest Rate Risk Management (BSIRRM) Group is looking for a highly motivated individual with Power BI(or similar) experience to help the group transform the way we do reporting and analytics using QRM, CALM and other associated data systems.

The BSIRRM Group performs quantitative analysis of the balance sheet behavior and has primary responsibility to measure interest rate risk (IRR) and design corresponding risk mitigation strategies. Team members oversee the IRR simulation models, provide management with insight concerning changes that they see in the risk profile, and contribute to the generation of risk management strategies.

This is a key role in our transformation strategy to adopt Power BI in the group. We aim to:

  • Enable better, data-driven decision-making by providing highly contextualized data and analytic information through cohesive workflows

  • Automate the existing, fragmented "human integration layer."

  • Foster Collaboration across functional teams

  • Provide streamlined Governance and Control of analytical information presented in risk/regulatory deliverables

To achieve this mission, this role will be responsible for

  • Responsible for administering, supporting, monitoring, and tuning the Power BI reporting environment; This involves the management and administration of all components of the Power BI domain, including Power BI on-premise data gateway servers.

  • Support self-service model governance - PBI transformation SharePoint site, access groups, training plans, playbook updates etc.

  • Run meetings and various collaboration forums - manage agenda, meeting proceedings and action items

  • Own requirements for standards for the group - standardized hierarchies, calculations, naming conventions etc.

  • Support all desktop procedures and control requirements in PBI environment

  • Own and manage the report inventory, PBI report inventory and the corresponding progress metrics

  • Support L3 (level 3 production support) for all PBI production issues

  • Works closely with Power BI report users to tune and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards.

  • Serves as Best Practices resource for Power BI initiatives in the organization.

  • Provide data management documentation as needed to support projects/initiatives.

  • Support oversight requests - data lineage, data research (Ex: Audit, CMOR, IT&V etc.)

  • Provide monthly communications to downstream partners for all the changes.

  • Monitor production metrics to escalate operational risks to Risk forum (through KPI Deck)

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

*Minimum Qualifications

  • Expertise with Dimensional Modeling or creating SSAS tabular models.

  • Experience producing Power BI data models and recommending best practices for the creation of reports and graphics/visualizations.

  • Understanding of Power BI Service and governance best practices, including CI/CD and use of deployment pipelines.

  • Experience in the infrastructural and technical areas involving data sourcing, ETL (Extract, Transform and Load), data quality, MDM (master data management) and data distribution.

  • Knowledge of software development process and methodologies

  • Undergraduate degree in technology, MIS, business or related field or equivalent experience

  • Strong and effective interpersonal communication (written and oral), organizational, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of contacts/relationships, including executive/senior-level managers.

Preferred Skills

  • Power BI certification is added advantage.

  • Prior financial services industry experience

  • Experience in moving an organization along the data management maturity model curve

  • Knowledge of QRM, IRR models, data management policies, and risk data aggregation methodologies for reporting and decision support.

  • MBA or other business related graduate degree

  • Knowledge of data integrity management efforts in Corporate Finance/Treasury or other lines of businesses.

  • Experience with enterprise initiatives supporting regulatory mandates
