Athene Sourcing & Vendor Management Analyst in West Des Moines, Iowa

Purpose:

The Sourcing & Vendor Management Analyst will focus on providing assistance and supporting on-going sourcing and vendor management activities to ensure that Athene receives the best value possible from its suppliers while leading on-going department activities focused on procurement, negotiation, and risk mitigation.

Accountabilities:

  • Support Procurement Process: support supplier bid creating and evaluation, effectively manage purchase orders, resolve supplier issues on an ad-hoc basis, own reporting and issue resolution for key internal systems.

  • Partner with the Business: work closely with assigned business teams to understand their business needs, assist in the development of purchasing requirements, educate business partners on effective vendor interactions, and drive customer satisfaction.

  • Execute Contract Management functions: contract collaboration and review, initiating contract approval and signature workflow.

  • Review and Negotiate lower risk / lower value agreements to ensure compliance with contracting standards.

  • Support Vendor Risk Management functions: educating customers on Vendor Risk Management and escalating requests / issues to vendor as appropriate.

  • Facilitate the follow-up and evaluate the expectations (deliverables, SLAs and other associated metrics) regarding the accountability and performance of vendors according to the contract and additional value added services.

  • Identify opportunities of efficiencies (redundant vendor services, and alternative vendors for improved outcomes).

  • Partner with procurement to help drive the negotiation strategy with new/renewed contracts to ensure we have the appropriate metrics established regarding measurable performance/outcomes.

  • Work with Asset Management to streamline processes, including governance of managing assets; mature the effectiveness and efficiency of vendors; proactive renewal process; effective scorecards for key vendors, etc.

  • Review and analyze processes, ensure implementation quality, and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively within own team and management.

  • Support internal policies and procedures (standards, controls and metrics).

  • Follow and adhere to company defined IT standards and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 3+ years of related experience required, with contract or negotiation experience preferred.

  • Experience with reviewing proposals and negotiating terms is highly desired

  • Solid communication skills and an entrepreneurial approach are highly desired

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and overall time management skills required.
