The VP, System Human Resources Consulting Leader serves the enterprise, including all regional and affiliate teams as the strategic HR advisor providing high-quality consultancy on a diverse set of strategic and operational HR issues; ensures implementation of an agreed upon HR organization structure, processes, policies and programs; Leads the HR consulting and service delivery model ensuring appropriate support of human capital services and solutions across the system. Accountable to ensure oversight and governance of HR Consulting organization structure, processes, and policies. Partners with Chief Diversity Officer to integrate DEI principles and practices in services delivered.

Operating Model and Relationship Management

  • Work with Regional CEOs and Regional HR leadership to design and implement a unified HR Consulting organization structure and interaction model to gain efficiencies and improve overall HR effectiveness across the enterprise.

  • Collaborate with the CHRO, HR Centers of Excellence leaders, and the Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer to design and implement a cohesive, modern human capital strategy. Work together to proactively identify and implement strategic solutions and interventions across the organization, focused on the team member experience and integrated DEI practices. Moves HR consulting from a transactional service delivery model to a strategic partnership service delivery model.

  • In collaboration with the HR Centers of Excellence, modernize HR practices to deliver a new HR service delivery model focused on the team member experience and integrated DEI practices. Moves HR consulting from a transactional model to a strategic partnership model.

  • Create a fungible HR Consulting operating model to align the right HR talent to meet the needs of the entire system; define and implement a common HRBP role with clearly defined responsibilities and performance expectations.

  • Lead regional HR teams across multiple markets. Manage a team of HR leaders to ensure the consistent and successful implementation and evolution of the HR service delivery model, including the continued movement of transactional items to a call center environment.

  • Build a trusting and credible relationship with business leaders. Work to understand each functional business and short- and long-term needs.

  • Leverage external networks to understand market trends, shape HR strategy and apply leading practices. Stay abreast of key industry trends and best practices.

Enterprise Human Resource Strategy and Execution

  • Implement Onward strategies and associated culture change - understand the new organizational operating model and vision.

  • Working with the CHRO, design and implement a future-state, work class organizational structure to support employer of choice efforts across the enterprise.

  • In partnership with the transformation office, Marcomm, and OD, work to ensure change initiatives are managed in a predictable and controlled manner and that overall objectives are achieved.

  • Deploy the new HR consulting / service delivery model across the organization to support enterprise and local business needs.

  • Integrate DEI practices with the HR consulting and service delivery model.

  • Identify the need for HR solutions across the enterprise, oversee and constantly improve a work-intake and governance process to enable priorities and deliverables.

  • Use data analytics, and external/internal insights, and benchmarks to inform solutions to meet short- and long-term business needs.

  • Drive simplification and elimination of non-value added work and identify efficiencies to improve organizational effectiveness.

  • Play an active business partner role in strategic meetings (budget process, strategic planning, etc.) and translate business strategies into HR initiatives.

  • Manage labor and productivity initiatives and actions to deliver cost improvement in areas such as overtime, premium labor, headcount efficiency and contract labor within the business.

  • Build capability internally and coach senior business leaders on effective talent, organizational and employee engagement strategies.

Leadership

  • Set clear performance expectations and inspire and enable direct reports through feedback and coaching to meet and exceed expectations.

  • Build the capability of direct reports and that of the broader HR team, identifying and supporting them through their own development and towards their career goals.

  • Provide coaching to managers on how to implement the new HR consulting service delivery model, how to analyze and identify solutions to drive the business and create greater organizational capability and engagement.

  • Identify, develop and retain high quality talent balancing multiple engagement and reward levers to deliver overall individual and organization value and capability.

  • Complete an HRBP talent assessment to determine the appropriate “build and buy” strategy to achieve the goals outlined in the human capital strategy, the HR consulting and delivery model and associated 3-5 year strategic business plan – Onward.

  • Demonstrates strong courageous leadership skills and the ability to make balanced, difficult and complex decisions in the face of opposition.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field.

  • Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in providing Human Resources services, solutions and leadership in roles of different levels of size, complexity, business model maturity, etc.

Skills:

  • Partnering with business leaders to develop, design and implement relevant strategic human resources strategies

  • Ability to manage and develop senior HR functional and leadership capability

  • Lead organization design, restructuring and strategic workforce planning initiatives

  • Has successfully led complex and system-wide organizational change that is a result of operating model transformation, business startup, mergers and acquisitions, business consolidation, etc.

  • Experience in creating and enhancing organizational culture through organizational effectiveness and development strategies that deliver higher levels of employee engagement, commitment and satisfaction

  • Highly skilled in executing HR core processes across multiple geographic areas and business functions

  • Diverse background in multiple industries and/or operating units within the same organization
